About us

Our philosophy

Le Piaf is the meeting place for every occasion and anyone looking for a short break, a chat and an enjoyable experience with a “French touch”.

Whether it’s brunch on a Saturday, a quick and enjoyable lunch or an aperitif with friends… you can find it just here!

Origin & craftsmanship

Our focus is on origin and craftsmanship. We source our products from suppliers and producers who share our values and quality standards. You can enjoy sausages and meats from the Doggwiler Butchery in Lucerne or from butcher Gabriel from the Engelberg Valley. We developed the Le Piaf natural sourdough and wholemeal rye bread together with the Kreuzbäckerei in Stans and it perfectly complements our dishes. We mainly source regional fruit and vegetables and prefer to process them when they are in season and ready to eat. Our free-range eggs are from the Fischer Eier family business in Malters.

The meats are from Switzerland, the Zander from Estland and the duck from France.

We are a member of Slow Food.

Our uniforms are made from organic cotton and recycled plastic from the sea. We think sustainably from A to Z.

We are here for you every day and look forward to your visit!

Our responsibility

For us, culture and nature belong together. We are aware that every decision we make has consequences. We act responsibly and sustainably. Our used frying oil is turned into biodiesel, organic waste into biogas and natural fertilizer for the region. We do not use disposable plastic items. The unavoidable disposable items are made from renewable raw materials. With coffee cups made from recycled coffee grounds, which are available for sale, our guests can enjoy their take-away coffee without any waste. We believe in food care instead of food waste. We have consciously designed portion sizes. If you find that you‘ve had enough and are already full, we are happy to package your meal for takeout. We are also a partner of the Foodsave app Too Good To Go. We offer our guests chilled, filtered and, if desired, carbonated Lucerne drinking water at a very fair price. We do this for reasons of environmental protection, sustainability and because it is cheaper for the guest. We donate 10% of the sales price to the organization “Water for Water” which enables the development of sustainable access to drinking water in Africa.
